Default Had Test drive in the Insignia today, very tempted.

I know I've said many times that I would never buy another brand new car after the big hit on my vec c, (bought last 4 new) but I must admit I do fancy owning one of the Insignia's. Wife and I went for test drive in one today at Bailey's, in Hereford, and spent quite a bit of time weighing up its pro's/cons. There are some things I'm not keen on like the slightly smaller seats, small back window etc. I also am not so sure about those large blandish door panels which I think may show every slightest mark up. But TBH I've never known any manufacturer make such a dramatic change of design from its current range, as VX have done with this model. Some have said there is less leg room in the rear, but it looks about the same as the vec to me, not that it matters too much as there is only the wife and I anyway, sales guy reckoned it was a fraction smaller than the vec c, but I thought it looked bigger.

It really does feel a much more expensive car than it actually is, those doors and boot really do close with a real solid quiet thud rather than some cheap clangs you get on some cars, overall, car is much queter too, nice also to have all electric adjustments to the seats etc. As you can probably tell I liked it... now its decision time, they can do me the exclusiv 160bhp for just about 13.5k with no px.

What with our bit of savings earning ****** all interest wise, I'm very tempted to go for it, one's a long time dead, so I think I've talked myself into it. Decisions, decisions...LOL Told me if I let him know tomorrow, I can have it for next wednesday, so pondering on it overnight.

Go for it. I am exactly in your position. Wouldn't go for another car due to my 3 year old SRi going for £4800 but the Insignia looks good. I would probably go for a 2.0 T SRi NAV

Pete you need to buy them a propoer bed instead of that grow bag

If your in a financial position suitable and want one then i would go for it. You only live once and so long as your comfortable with it then why not

I just don't understand VX's design team, they make the Sig and Estate with loads of room, and then make the hatch so small

I think it's done to their market, they aim to sell to fleet where there's a driver and his sales kit to transport, so more load space is their main aim, it's sad though because this car would be my natural next choice, but with the Superb 2 now launched I'm in a right pickle as to what to buy next, granted it's not as pretty but functionally it's a winner for my job.

I personally would wait even if I won the lottery! The twin turbos are due out this year after all and they will be much better.
