You say you had brakes checked. it sounds to me that the discs are warped. I f you use aftermarket pads which are harder the oe pads , when you brake discs get realy hot and warp. I had it on my last car changed discs with oe discs and pads ok.

Sounds like warped discs to me.

When you say you've had them checked - exactly what was done? If it was just a visual examination then it's nigh on impossible to visually see a warp with the naked eye. It doesn't take much of a warp to cause the effect you're having and to measure it it needs to be done with a special tool - forgotten it's name.

If you have a vibration on your brake pedal when braking that's definitly the discs and if you change them make shure you do pads as well.If your steering wheel vibrates and woobles at high speed without braking you better go and balance the front wheels
