how does the old mirror come off the windscreen ?.. stuck at the first herdle

pls help

Slides off the mount,give some welly and it'll come off in yer had...........

Not if you're carefull,only use your hand,no hammers of inplements........

I take it that it slides DOWN the screen... cos there is no room to go towards the roof lining

theres also a small tap that you can pull downwards to release the mirror...

is that the little metal loop i can just about see... wish this plastic trim was out the way
