Dash Thermometer

Does anybody know where the dash thermometer is located? Is it under the bonnet somewhere? For some reason in this seriously cold weather, when I get in the car in the morning the dash thermometer reads 6 degrees when it’s -1 outside! Could it be a dying battery?

Its located in the front bumper,i'd say replace it,only a fiver from the dealer,get a new one and change it,very easy,just unclips and unplugs from loom,good luck and let us know how you get on,hth........

The outside temp sensor is fitted to the rear of your lower front bumper grill; it just clips in and out, no tools required to remove it.

These can and do go faulty so it's just a case of fitting a new one.

Thanks for the replies, i will check that when i get home.

Unfortunately it seems that’s the least of my worries at the moment. I left the Vectra for a week over Christmas, when I went to start it on Monday morning, the ignition just clicked and did not turn over (well it gave a slight turn and then gave up) . So I charged it with my charger for an hour, and went back and that seemed to be enough to get it started, I then drove to work and noticed the dreaded spanner light came on and off a couple times, but other than that it was working fine.

When I got home I changed the battery as I figured it was probably on its last legs, and now after about 10 seconds of being started, the spanner comes on, and stays on my whole journey.

Looks like a trip to the dealers, i will get the thermometer changed at the same time. I was thinking maybe the two problems were releated as its only just started reading the wrong temp, but probably a coincadence

The fact that the battery has been very low may or maynot have contributed to your spanner light. Try disconnecting your new battery for 45 mins or so to reset any stored faults. With a bit of luck, it maybe ok then.
