    Default Which H7 Bulbs-Night Breaker's or Philips X-treme

    Right Guy's,

I have now gotten rid of the Halfords Extreme Brilliance H7 Bulbs I bought as I strongly beleive that they werent much brighter than the standard bulbs!

So now I am back with the standard one's and I can see about a metre in front and then its like a cut off, no range at all!

Im temped to try Duncan's Vec-C Pre-Facelift Mod, but want to change the bulbs first.

I was going to invest in some H7 Osram Night Breaker's, but have read comments saying that they aint all that and the range is pretty much the same as standard bulbs!

Have also read some threads saying that Philips X-Treme are really good, so before I go and push the Buy Now button on ebay, what would you guy's recommend and what should I be looking to pay for either/or.

Also, your comments on both the OSRAM NIGHT BREAKER's and PHILIPS X-TREME would be much appreciated.

I know there are other threads about this kind of subject but this is the Vec-B that they will be going into so all and any help and advice is highly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

    G.

P.S. if anyone is selling the above H7 bulbs, im interested. Thx.

    .

    Bye bye Vec B

You're better off doing the 'mod' anyway, as regardless of bulbs, the headlight design will still limit the range, do the mod, get some nighbreakers and you will notice the difference.

    Hi mate

I was just going to ask the very same thing, I've just got a set of OSRAM NIGHT BREAKER's + 90% , and if any thing I would say they are worse than the standard bulbs,

I think its to do with the projector head lamps as the bulb has a silver coated tip ?? maybe I don't know ???, I used them the 1st time last night and couldn't even see the light on the road from the car, they may be better in standard head light's but I'm going to try them in the wife's Corsa,

But I wouldn't bother with the Vec !! waist of money IMO

    Hope it helps,

Do HID conversions make a worthy improvement ???

    Cheers Mark

Massively, they extend the range a bit (not a massive amount I must admit - stupid head lights) but the increase in light is phenomenal !!!

Any recommendations ? I'm not worried about the range , with the stock bulbs in its not two bad but with these +90% in I can't see a thing LOL,

I'd rather have more light that anything, is there still a problem with fitting HID's for MOT's etc or has that all changed.

I'll be taking out these ****E bubls today and putting the stock one's back,

    Cheer's Glen.

As long as I get a bit more light that what im getting now, that would be a breakthrough.

One thing I must admit, I took the Halfords ones out and ive put the standards back in, but I seem to think that they gave a bit more light as these one's are shocking!!! I think the design of the headlight is cack! Im goign to have a go at the mod, but knowing me, i'll screw that up and blind oncoming traffic!

Mark, are you going to be returning or selling the Night Breaker's?

Let me know if you are, although I am more swayed towards the X-treme's!

Also, anyone know the cheapest place to get some X-treme's?
