    Default Vectras Gone!!!

Bought a 57 plate passat Highline with 16'000 miles on it for £6800 yes £6800 for a car that was £20'000+ less than 12 months ago.

Went to Greenhous Vauxhall looking at Insignia's but they were'nt intrested in my Vectra PX.

From what i could gather they were expecting a LOT of Vecs on PX in the next few months weeks. They really were advising private sale then offered £3800 for 57sri-nav lol...

They also offered a guy £2300 for a 55 Zifara whilst i was there.

So bye bye Vectra.......Hello passat i only bought it as i hope it will hold some value till summer when the used Insignia's EX demo's will appear.

So will you be holding on to your Vec or is the fact they seem to be losing £600 a month worrying you aswell???

I'm certainly holding on to mine as I didn't pay a great deal for it and won't lose me a huge amount, plus I plan on keeping it for a couple more years yet, when by then I won't care how much its worth.

Did anyone buy their Vectra new..?

My GSi was £27000 fully spec's in 2002. Bought it in Dec 07 for £6000 (57k miles), now worth £3500 ish.

What else would I get for £3500 today that gives me everything I want - nothing.

The more often you change your car, the more money you lose, so I can't see your plan working. Not only does each car depreciate anyway, each time you trade-in at a dealership and buy one off their forecourt, you're giving away the difference between the trade price and the retail price.

^ The only car that makes the Vectra look like it's holding some value

Given the way my Vectra has depreciated since I bought it a year ago, I'll be hanging onto it now until it blows up or I win the lottery! Thankfully I didn't buy it new or I might have been really depressed

Went to look at the Insignia at my local dealers and I asked about the Vectra and when he thought they would sell the remaining stock.

His response was that they had stock piles of them everywhere and he believed he would still have them available for the next 18 months!! Not going to do used values any good at all given the discounts they are offering to shift them....

I got £7250 for my 07 plate 1.8SRi, sounds good compared to what others have been offered, but not great when you think 15 months ago it cost me £12495.
Long live the Ford Mondeo, lol
