    Default Electrical Problems

Really hope someone can help or advise.

Bought a Vectra 2.2 pertrol SRI 150bhp back in October and have had the following problems

*Radio decided to reprogramme my channels onto different numbers
*Cruise control has a mind of its own (i.e sometimes works & sometimes doesnt)
*Display tells me my headlight is out when theres actually nothing wrong
*A couple of days ago my wifes key fob stopped working although mine is fine
*Yesterday a warning light came on to tell me my oil level is low but when car was turned off & back on again the light has gone out only for it to come back on later in the day and now its off again today (Can't get my bonnet open but leaving into garage tomorrow to try and get it open again)
*And heres the best of all - The wife has just turned the key in the door to lock it (her fob is still ****ed) and the windows decide to open themselves!!!!!!

I'm really lost as to what to do...... Can anyone help me please....

The windows are supposed to do that, she turned it too far. You can also do it by holding down lock unlock on the fob.

The spring on the clutch pedal needs replacing to sort the Cruise control.

You will have a dirty contact, or its a rear light and as you have two bulbs in there a spare takes over so its hard to see a blown bulb.

The battery needs replacing in the fob.

    Check your oil LOL

Sounds like a lot of finger trouble
1 radio will change all stations and save in ascending order if wrong button pushed
2 crusie control will only worked if the break has been pressed once in that journey
3 loose wire possible with headlights however the light out warning also applies to the rear lights
4 key fob may be bust however if left it the lock or the button depressed windows will go up and down corresponding to wither unlocking/down locking/up
5 if you were on a slope etc light for oil may of come on however id defo check it, my bonnet catch is my right ankle while driving

    rushy beat me!!!!

The only one thing that could possibly cause all these faults in one go is the CIM, but to be honest most can be explained from poor maintenance, the batteries for instance should be replaced in your fobs by Dealer when serviced, this is why you should always take both keys.

    Default Update

Left the car into garage today and i'm so glad i did. Apparently the oil was VERY low - Took 2 litres to fill it back to normal level.

Since the oil has been replaced everything else is working great if not better. Took her out for a good spin tonight and cruise control is working 100%, Car in general feels much better and the key fobs are both working again. All seems very bizarre.... Is it possible that the low oil level would have a knock on effect on everything else?

Anyway guys, thanks VERY much for you help and prompt replies.

    All the best,
    Gary.
