Wiper issue on intermittent

I've noticed an issue with my wipers.

They work fine on slow and fast speeds but don't work on intermittent.

HOWEVER, if you stick them on intermittent, they don't work as they are but if i flick the wheel on top of the stick between the intermittent gaps, it will give a single wipe each time i do it.

Is there a seperate relay somewhere that controls just the intermittent wipe, or do i have another issue someone could advise or assist me with?

The intermittent wipe is rain sensitive. They'll only wipe when they sense rain on the windscreen.

Would he have rain sensors on a 02 18 club ?

Not too sure about that - best checking the car specs. Other than that I wouldn't know what the problem was I'm afraid.

My '55 reg 1.8 Face Lift Club does not have Rain Sensitive Wipers only the standard set-up...they are only available on higher spec cars...say the Design upwards aren't they????

They definitly ain't rain sensitive on mine as it pee'd it down and they didn't come on.

I assume as they work on normal speeds and do a single stroke each time i flick the wheel on the stalk, but doesn't otherwise that the intermittant has a relay for the timegap and it's that which is broke.

Just wondering if it sounds plausable and whether the car has a relay for intermittent wiping?
