    Default Glove Box Opener

    Hi All

Dont know if anybody else has had this problem. My glovebox used to open very slowly as if it was on one of those gas struts. The other day I was getting somthing out of it and with my inpatients I forced it open faster than it "falls" open, and somthing went "ping". Now the glovebox just flops open when you open it. I've had a look and cant see how to get to the rear of the box as its an entire unit. anybody else found this?

    Thanks
    Pete

The whole unit comes out easily enough - three screws along the top front edge and two on the bottom front edge. Unclip the light connection before you pull it all the way out.

From memory I'm sure that the gas strut is positioned along one of the sides. Maybe something has popped out of place/broken and just needs put back in place.

Yep, it's gas strut assisted in it's opening, like the tailgate.

Cheers Guys!, ill take another look at it asap. Last time I looked at fixing it, it was by torch light and it was about -3 outside so not ideal. Sounds like some other people have this problem so I'll let you know how I get on and report back asap

    Thanks again!

What I can't understand is the glovebox is dampened, as is the front ashtray, grab handles and rear seat drinks holder. Why did Vauxhall forget to dampen the rear ashtray?
