    Default Oil Choice

I asked ExxonMobil's technical Helpdesk which of their oils they think is most suitable for the Z20NET engine, here's their reply:

    "Our recommendation is Mobil 1 0W-40, with GM-LL-A-025 / B-025 approval"

    Is 0W-40 better than 5W-30?

On all model Vectra C's 2002 onwards 5W-30 (GM-LL-A-025) is the recommended oil viscosity.

So long as it meets :
    GM-LL-A-025 (petrol engines)
    GM-LL-B-025 (diesel engines)

Mobil oil that meets this is :
    Mobil 1 ESP 5w30
    Mobil 1 0w40
    Mobil 1 Synt S 5w40
Mobil LL Special G 5w30 - the only Mobil oil solely with this specification

Because, the so called "experts" (usually Vx) don't have a soddin' clue what oil should go in them!

Whereas we do actually know a bit about the subject

    Too right! lol

If we just blindly trusted Vx/GM we'd all be driving under-braked, un-remapped, small-wheeled-NCT5-shod cars.
