Following on from my "oh god " thread
Had to wait til last thursday for the cim to get to the dealers as factory was shut. The new key didn't turn up til the friday, then the vauxhall site they use for security codes or some shizzle was down, so had to wait til today.Had issues with the immobiliser lock icon and the key not working in the ignition, car was towed to evans halshaw at blaydon. They said it could be 1 or 2 things and needed the spare key to test, but we didn't get a spare key when we bought the car from a garage 2/3 months ago. Got a phone call from the vx dealer today, car has been on diagnostics and they say it needs a new CIM, £474 all in - Girlfriend on maternity leave, just had xmas with our 5 month old and totally skint. We're screwed
So god damn annoyed
Get's a phone call from the dealers, they basically asked my to take my pants down and bend over..
Ontop of the £475, they asked if i had ever jump started the car lately to which i said no, as i haven't. They went on to say the CIM received a pulse from the BCM and they've both became faulty. They were trying to re-programme the new key or something and it was failing on one of the steps. I now need a new BCM at the cost of £205.... He re-assured me that they are pretty certain this will solve it, but i thought they were sure the CIM would solve it too...
Vauxhall have said that if the BCM doesn't solve it they won't actually charge me for it, which the service guy said is quite un-common as they don't usually take electrical parts back. He siad they've never seen something like this, and vauxhall themselves are interested in the problem. Really regretting buying this car now, it's costing me nearly quarter of the price i paid for it, to get it fixed. So ****ing ****ed off, gonna be on the bones of my arse for a month now. £180 gas bill, £120 electricity bill, £680 for the car and tax due at the end of the month £145. Pass the rope....
Can it get any worse?!?!
