    Default Donington Park's F1 changes

I was looking earlier to see how they were going to change the Donington Park circuit for the F1 use. I found the page on the Park's website with plans:

    http://www.donington-park.co.uk/formula-one-plans

The circuit layout certainly looks different, they are building a new pit complex on the infield where the Dunlop bridge is.

The traffic plans for raceday should be entertaining

If anyone turns up! I read an article stating that they want to turn it into the ultimate 'green' Grand Prix. There is going to be no private car usage allowed to the circuit over the Grand Prix weekend. They have a proposal to lay on bus transport from all the nearby transport hubs, East Mids Airport, B'ham International etc.

Can't see it working myself, or any of the fat cat sponsors wanting to wait for a bus! If anything it'll just increase helicopter traffic. And that's good for the enviroment

Tell you what, if you can get close to the hairpin bend, the noise will be unreal !
Watched some GT cars there a couple of years ago and it was actually painfull to stand there. The sound just pounded into your chest !

I wonder how the local roads will cope when its GP weekend ?

Have consideration for the deaf, if you're gunna fart, make it smell !

See my post above about it being the first 'public transport Grand Prix', I've found a link to one of the press stories last year about it:

    http://www.grandprix.com/ns/ns21008.html

Personally, I think it's only because they want to run this on a shoestring and don't want to be upgrading the local infrustructure.
