Followed a 2.8T Elite the other day, it had the 18's on and was lowered (I'd guess using the Sports suspension option) - the only difference that folk may not notice until the try to upgrade is that the twin exhausts are hidden - no cutouts in the rear valance.

Very nice car, and may be one to look for with the 3.0CDTi engine in if diesel's a must. Makes me wonder if there are any 'hidden' versions of Magnex etc twin exit exhausts...

SRi has close-ratio gearbox, and whilst a lot of things can be specced or retro fitted, that sort of thing can't be changed without a lot of fuss.

    Speed,

If you want the definitive lists of spec, go here http://www.gmproductforum.co.uk/sect...px?mid=2&sid=2

It's the Vauxhall archive of brochures for their cars in PDF format.

The Vectra 2008 brouchure is in the main list and under 'Discontinued Models' are the older archive brochures.

I wouldn't worry. I haven't seen any evidence that the engine is unreliable after 2 years. On the contrary actually, apart from an alternator problem which could have happened to any car in the range.
I'm far from the only one who has found the car very good, so treat it well and it'll be fine.
No tuning boxes or remaps if you want top reliability, but buying second hand is always a risk as you don't know what was put on the car before you get it

Do you think a remap would make the car unreliable. I've had my last 3 cars remapped with no problems.

Not specifically, some people have run into problems but that's mostly with the tuning boxes.
Quite a few CDTI drivers on here are very happy with their remaps - BSR or 888 being the favourites. Stick with the reputable ones, and all should be well.
I'd definitely avoid the cheap remaps with this engine though, I think that's where people tend to get the most problems.

Can anyone tell me if there's much difference between the facelift Sri's then please? Say between a 54 reg and 06 for arguements sake.

I'm looking at 54/05/55 reg cars and have seen some post facelift ones and wondered if they had less spec than an earlier Sri?

    Cheers
