    Default BT Vision

Has anyone got BT Vision, the V box? If so what is the quality of on-demand movies and other programmes like? Have trouble believing that they really can deliver HD quality films via broadband.

    Cheers

I've got BT Vision had it since it first came out, its ok. I was a tester for the initial hardware so it was free and I dont pay any monthly charges. If it wasn't free i'd have binned it by now, basically its a poor mans sky+. I'd love Sky HD but just can't justify the cost.

The films are downloaded to your V-Box when you buy them, so If you want to watch something you have to wait for it to have downloaded. I'd argue its not on-demand when you have to wait for it to download.
Quality is ok, i use the HDMI but the upscale circuitry isn't upto much!

We just use as a freeview PVR, considering it was free it does that very well.

Don't bother. I had a heck of a job getting rid of this rubbish after I signed up, even though the recording facility had NEVER WORKED. Just try ringing customer services, they keep you on hold for over an hour (1 hr 45mins was the record) then cut you off when you try to explain the problem. 2 months later, and many letters to the boss of BT, and I was finally free to go to Sky+, and Sky Broadband, which is faultless (for me at least).

Guess I won't be going down the BT Vision route. We've had all the Sky channels and packs with Sky+ and broadband for about five years. It's just a lot of money every month and the BT Vision TV advert had started to work on us, the one where his mate asks why he pays so much for the cr*p channels he doesn't watch! Wondered if BT Vision was an alternative yet.

Didn't really want to get rid of Sky though, so thanks for all the replies.

My V-Box has been fine for 9 months now, no probs with it at all.

As for HD movies they download so you have to wait before you can start watching them
