now just wondering what the ideal resolution is to use?..

you want to pick the native resolution of your display. if its full hd then 1920x1080, or a "hd ready" set is probably 1360x768.

I'd start on 1024 x 768 to begin with and work your way up from there. Make sure the refresh rate is set low initially and then wortk up to as high as it allows while showing a stable pic.

Didn't we cover this all in another thread and I got you all working?, with the problem being the res you were using?

ah yep..but changed the tv now..and i had to keep starting and restarting the computer and swapping between the two.. just wondered if ther is an easier way other than manually keep swapping it over..
dont i just need to change the display settings though the control panel?
and if so, what does the resolution sizes mean?>..
do i need to use size of 1280*1024 or go for smaller than that?.. what do the sizes actually mean?

Yep, that's all you do - or right click on the desktop and chose properties if you're on XP.

On the PC it's simply how many pixels wide by high it sends the image to the display and in terms of the display/TV it's native/max resolution is what you can send to it and still display properly.

Using the same (physical) display, a higher resolution setting allow more information to be shown in the same area is the basic way of describing it.

You just have to make sure you're sending a resolution, and regresh rate, to the TV that it can handle. Look at the TV's specs to find that info.

If you're streaming over the net i highly doubt the quality of the video stream will be good enough to view via your tv in fullscreen
