Default Debadging the car went a bit wrong!

Decided to debadge the car and fit the clear side indicators today as it was milder than it has been for quite some time.

The back came first and went well:

Then the passenger side, although i REALLY need to wash the car:

Unfortunatly after this it went a little wrong. The drivers side indicator didn't want to come out as easily as the passenger one and the club badge also was clinging on for dear life. This was the outcome:

From what I can see and surmise, the car has had a respray on the drivers wing and they used sealant/glue on the indicator so when i got it off, it took a chunk of paint with it. And the badge appears to be have stuck on the car AFTER the laquer was sprayed on and before it was dry. Also at the top right where the B was you can see where someone has tryed to touch the paint up and its also bubbled.

So now i'm going to have to find somewhere decent yet cheap near me to fix the paintwork before i replace the indicator.

    I am most perturbed

Unlucky! Really feel sorry for you. 1200 & 2000 grit wet/dry and touch up paint should sort that.

But I really, and I mean REALLY suck at paintwork. Even if i smoothed it down, i've still got to then relacquer it and i'm completely useless at doing cars.

The last time i tried it on a burgendy metallic Peugeot, it was matted, i could feel the height difference, i could see masking tape lines and 3 weeks later the patch i did turned to a gold colour!!!

Cheers geezer, have you ever tried them?

There's a place called autosmart behind Enterprise Garage in Trench Lock too. As Enterprise is where i got the car from, and i believe they own autosmart, then hopefully i'll get it cheap.

It's just really annoying. If i hadn't wanted to make my car "cooler" then i'd never have had noticed this and had to get it fixed

Yep, I was thinking that, as they used different adhesieve, and the club badge appeared to be stuck INTO the lacquer. Didn't appear on the HPI so assume it was a cash repair

    Default

when did u get the car if less than 6 months then i would take it back to enterprise and get them to sort it or at least contribute to the cost. no i have not delt with them m8 but there aren't that many places round here that will just repaire the damage auto craft in st georges would want to spray half the car to blend it all in. the paint doesn't look metalic m8 so wont need a lacqure.

It is metallic. Moon.......... something or other.

I've spoken to Autocraft before and they don't like private jobs unless it's parts off the car spraying such as bringing a bumper of wing mirrors to them.

They're about the only "approved" repairers in telford so make a load of money scamming the insurance company so will overcharge normal folk just so they DON'T get the business
