    Default Fuel Saver

    hi Guys,

    im new to the form and im the proud owner of a black 1.9cdti 150, 2007 facelift vectra with vxr styling pack with 19" (snowflake wheels) which i know alot of people dont like lol. but i do....

    I was just wondering i have seen this fuel saver device on ebay and i was wonderinf anyone has had any experience with it, i dont midn trying it and keeping it on th car but i dont want it to ruin my engine in some way, you hear bad thing about tunning boxes aswell. and i was just wondering, id love to get a tunning box that would improve economy when needed and give me more bhp aswell, if anyone can recommend something.

    "How does this work?
    The kit makes the car fuel injectors fire for a slightly shorter period of time than normal and also slightly advances the car ignition. This means you get a slightly smaller amount of fuel injected into the cylinders but (due to the advanced ignition) burns the fuel more completely than normal. There is no chance of lean running because the emissions are always being monitored by the car lambda sensor in the exhaust."

    Firstly, yours is a diesel and will (and defo should) run very lean most of the time, and this will effectively do F U C K all for you, except waste £10 and some of your time.


    That is my personal and professional opinion. If it was SO good, then car manufacturers would do the same and publish higher MPG figures. The fact that car manufacturers don't means that they don't do anything the normal ECM isn't doing.
    The best way to improve your fuel economy is to press the loud pedal a bit less.....................

    LOL, thaks for your honest answer, lol i understand what your saying. at the moment i get well the computer says i get 41mpg combined. i tried doing a test myself once and i put in 40 pounds from empty and i managed to get out 370 miles outo f the 40 pounds. im jsut wonderinf if i can squeeze bit more. ive heard people do 20% better tbh.
