Default Does anyone how this could be done?

Hi all, this is going to require a response from someone in the know, but i was wondering if there is anyway the foglights and sidelights can be wired up to come on when you unlock the car.

don't if anyone has seen this before, i know mercs have this feature and i think it's quite nice.

can they not be hooked up to the same circuit as the interior light when that switches on when the car unlocks and switches off when the ignition is turned.

only problem is that you wouldn't want it wired directly to the light otherwise you'll be switching the lights on and off as you were switching the interior light on and off.

would anyone else be interested in doing this if it could be done, or is it just me?

    cheers

Would be a nightmare to do this m8 as the main light switch is a canbus switch.

It might be possible theoretically to program the canbus to do it, as it does have a DayLight Running software option to have the lights on all the time. BUT you'd need Vauxhall to write the software to do it...

If I had a few grand for a Tech2+CANdi canbus interface then I might try and write a new software patch to do it. Any donations?

It was worth asking, my old beemer had this feature & it was nice.

I think you are right though the above seems a little extreme lol

You're talking to the same guy who ripped out half the interior trim and bought a whole new roof harness just to put the courtest light in the back of the car!

    Yep that is determination.

I draw the line at any project that requires more than slight mental & physical effort. lol
