Exclamation F**king Mondeos - warning, rant inside!

So I'm making my way to work this morning along the motorway, and get stuck behind a queue of cars in the outside lane doing 55-60. Some wee Hyundai, a New Beetle, a Transit connect, a new shape Mondeo Titanium TDCI, then me.

Hyundai moves over to inside lane, Beetle speeds up and tucks into inside lane, Transit smokes off passing another few cars in the inside lane and takes the next offslip.

So, I'm crusing along behind the Mondeo at about 75mph. No bother at all, I'm a good 4 car lengths behind him, so I move over towards the right edge of the motorway so I can see past his fat ass.

This is the point he assumes I want past, slams his brakes on and slows to about 60. Now I'm like 4.5mm from his ass, standing on the brakes. WHAT THE F**K!?! He tries to take off by speeding up. Well, I assume that's what he was trying to do because he sped back up to about 80 while p**sing black smoke. Yeah, right, buy a car with an engine *******. After a few miles of dicking about he moved over and I passed him. Old codger too.

People who f**k about that that should be banned from the roads. Slamming on brakes in the outside lane on a slippery surface when the inside lane is clear, then speeding up and slowing down when someone first off wasn't even close to them, and then not just ****** well moving out of the way and letting the person behind on past.

*sigh* The sooner it becomes legal to ram stupid people, the better.

It was the old word for "Donkey" followed by another word for "pit".

There are just soooo many w8nk3rs about these days, you have to be careful. My Mrs can vouch that I can spot a lady/codger driver from
up to 400 yards away just by the way they drive.

Best Tip. If a lady/codger is nesr you on a roundabout, ALWAYS drop back as they often change lane whilst going around the roundabout at the last minute, this has saved me many prangs. Even my Mrs does this now :-)

I must admit this is the first twonk that's done that in a very long time, in fact since I started this job well over 18 months ago. Most people either just tootle along oblivious, or just get out of the way.

Dunno what power those TDCi Mondeos are supposed to have, but he really wasn't any sort of match for the second slowest Vectra (1.9-120 is the slowest of the modern Vecs).

I've been looking for an aftermarket Exocet missile launcher for years to deal with this sort of idiotic, selfish and dangerous driving. Sadly I haven't been able to find one yet. If anyone out there knows of such a thing, please let me know!

I think you should be allowed to do some "tactical contact" to those muppets, a nice dint in the rear quarter and spin them off into the armco would do it.

At a rough calculation that makes you about 20m behind him, and at that speed the stopping distance is about 100m. No excuse, but I guess he took exception to you tailgating him and "brake tested you". In the current road conditions not the most sensible thing to do, but then IMO neither is driving that close.

You should have been more like 20 car lengths behind. Now lots of people will jump in and say if you leave that gap, everyone will jump into my space. That may be the case, but it doesn't change the laws of physics, you'll never stop a car in that gap on winter roads at that spped in the short a distance.

Fortunately, you didn't collect him. but perhaps worth thinking about how much room you are leaving?
