I've been on the market for a gizmo for the car for the last three months without success. I decided to contact the manufacturer by email for help. A company director replied. The conversation got a little wierd. I have removed company names as the Emails are heaviliy caveated:
BROCKS: I have been trying to get one of these aerials from a local stockist in the Northwest for several weeks now. They are all saying that AAAA Do not have them in stock and are having trouble getting them. Can you tell me if this is so and when do you expect to have them?
DIR: They are in stock and have not been out of stock! So I would be interested to know the names of the retailers who said this to you as there may be a communication breakdown between us and them.
In return for the favour I can send one to you mail order for £20 inc. P&P!
BROCKS: I've tried numerous retailers in the Northwest. Most of whom didn't even know the product existed until I either guided them on the internet or they rang their AAAA rep for a new catalogue.
Branches of XXXX,
Branches of YYYY
ZZZZ in Stockport
All told me the same story. AAAA have told them that they are having trouble with their suppliers.
I spoke to XXXX in Stockport last night and they said they'd get
back to me today. If you don't mind I'll give them another go as they have put some effort in for me. If they have no joy, and you can supply an aerial, I'd appreciate it. I have been looking for nearly 3 months now.
DIR: OK, bizarre but true!
We don't deal with xxxx but would like to....please tell them to ring me for catalogue!!
BROCKS: They are listed on your website. That's were I started to look for stockists.
DIR: True....I'll look into this!
