    Default Heated car seats...Any alteratives?

Does anyone without "Factory Fit" Heated Seats use anything or can you recommend anything as an alternative? I've just got back from Holiday and my car had heated seats... Now I cant / don't want to live without them!

I'd rather not have the unsightly cables running from the cigarette lighter...

you wouldn't say that if you know how much work is involved lol

you have to buy a new wiring harness for inside the seat,
unfortunately i know for a fact its not a hit and miss one like on the vec b that it might be there,
it isn't, the seat isn't a vauxhall design, its a faurecia epsilon seat, the wiring harness for the seat is bar coded to prevent any **** ups, iirc there are 8 different wiring harness's
thats without changing the wiring harness to the seat

Yes, there is an 'easy' and much cheaper alternative to the 'go to dealer and buy all the parts' route that will cost IIRC £200 (and IMO not worth this much).

I retrofitted heated seats to my old Vec B.

The most expensive thing was buying the switches for the dash. I used the heated seat pads from a Volvo 340, and released the seat covering and slid them between foam and fabric, then ran wires down the centre console to the switches.

Both the seat pad and lower back pad connect to gether and had a thermal cut out.

Very good mod, so good that I fitted heated seats to the rears aswell. Haven't done it to my Vec C, mainly due to not being arsed to do it.

LOL No went to Seattle and we had 11 inchs of snow just on Xmas day! We were staying with friends and we HAD to hire a 4x4 as they lived out in the sticks. The it was a GMC something and only a 3.8 V6 and the best I could get was 16.4 MPG! But saying that, I was able to fill it up at COSTCO for around $40 each time and the comp was saying it had a 300-400 mile range each time.
