Unhappy 3.0 V6 Power loss after a wash???

as titled i washed my very dirty siggy 3.0 V6 CDTI and driving it this morning seamed normal till i put the boot down then there was hesitation and then it went put the boot down again and more hesitation??
No warning lights on just checked the air filter and turbo hoses and no problems there??
i know there is another thread on here with a similar problem but alot of those 3.0 are the newer engine and was wondering if anybody with the older pre 05 engine experiance anything similar??

I'll hazard a guess that you used a pressure or jet washer?

You've already looked at what I was going to suggest - wet air filter but other than that, I can't think of anything else.

Hopefully somebody more informed will be along

EDIT - just a thought, how about disconnecting the battery for an hour and re-setting the ECU?

We all seem to be on the right lines here. If (and I don't know), you pressure washed and aimed the jet at the grille and air intake area at the front, water can pool up in the intake pipework (well it can on my 3.2V6). You'll then be sucking in very moist and very damp air through the air filter, maybe even sucking water droplets in. If these collect on the air flow sensor (MAF?), you'll get incorrect air/fuel readings. The MAF can be removed and cleaned but as all now seems well (the MAF has dried out), I'd leave well alone unless the problem comes back.
