Default V6 CDTI gearbox removal: "A right *******!"

Having gearbox removed on my car to deal with probable shagged DMF.Mechanic (who is entirely competent) says that he's had to remove the turbo, exhaust manifolds, catalytic converters and numerous heatshields and other bits and pieces and will then probably have to lower the subframe in order to get the gearbox out.He has already removed gearboxes on the 1.9 models (for one reason or another) and says (among other things!) that once it's done he doesn't care if he never sees the effing car again!

Also if DMF is found to be faulty it's three days until VX can get another!

Seriously thinking of getting a 1.8 petrol even though the car has a warranty.

He did the service on it a while ago and couldn't get over the fact that it cost £100 just to change the oil and filter.
