Default SRi 150 Vectra C-Problems still exist..

OK its really stressing me out now..
55 plate, SRi 150 with 70K on the clock.

So far (with your help) have:

-New DMF and Clutch, along with Slave Cylinder fitted (DMF Under warrenty and paid extra for new clutch)
    -Timing Belt Kit changed
    -Fuel Filter Changed
    -New EGR Valve
-Had a small split vaccum hose (replaced)
    -Recent oil change miniservice done.
-Checked connectors on Injector and MAF sensor (seem ok)
    -Intermittent Turbo kicking in
    -No power below 2500 revs.
-Struggles to go over 60mph on the motorway
    -No fault lights or codes
-Have noticed, if car is started it drives fine for the first 10/20 mins then the slugishness starts, acceleration gets heavy, and before you know it starts to crawl... steering gets a bit heavier. sometimes while driving when its bad all of sudden it goes fine the car runs ok steering is light again??? No lights or fault codes, had it hooked up to diagnostics machine.

Car is still giving problems, still sluggish, does not pull as used from a standing start, 32 mpg used to get 45mph. engine temp shows 90 sometimes then even drops below 70 and stays there for a while.

By the way its a Taxi, so as a regular driver on the road its frustating when the car is not running right & if you get overtaken all the time.

    Please help am desparate.

Swirl flaps/Valves? Maybe the linkage rod has come off?

Swirl Valves all seem to be be fine, had them replaced under warrenty by VX.

it seems there is a air blockage or something tho.

I had the fuel filter replaced but didn't fill it up with deisal, could that be a problem?

Yeah it could be as they should be primed with diesel.

I'd get the alternater and battery properly checked not just a multi meter test, could be the car's ok when first started then as the battery goes down it can't power everything. The heavy steering suggests an electrical fault. When the car runs badly try turning everything off (lights,a/c,radio etc) see if it improves, that would also suggest a battery/charging fault.
I don't think it's the swirl valve, mine is not working at the mo' (i think the little arm that opens/closes the valves must have come off). I can manually move the valves to the open or closed position, closed gives good bottom end power but dies off a little sooner at the top end. Open position the car is a little flat at low revs but picks up really well as the revs rise.
When the car isn't running well is the engine really lumpy? If the fuel system had air in it i would think it would be purged by now. If it was being starved of fuel it probably wouldn't want to rev at all.
Any more detail on when it happens?

    Jim.

    Thanks for your replies.

It happens on and off, sat night it started off fine, and about 13 mins later it was struggling to drive, switched off for a bout 10 mins it was fine again.

turbo kicks in about 2500 revs, but not much power before then, at other times the turbo doesn't kick in, it revs through to about 3500 revs before you can feel a bit of a kick, othertimes its fine.

Had the same issues with a bmw 320 td just a few weeks ago...sent to diesel specialist who tells me its the injectors...barstewarding things were welded to the alloy head...after a few hours and a BIG sliding puller out and replaced...STILL the same...got onto said company to them have no other clue...

Had another Bmw 320 to hand... quick swap ...Problem solved!!!

Same issues just about not boosting as it should...this sometimes felt like it was overboosting to an extent.

    Hope this helps.

    Chris
