    Exclamation 1.9 cdti front springs

Came out of work at 6pm this evening, started the engine and began to reverse out of the parking space and as soon as I turned the steering wheel I heard a loud noise from the front nearside wheel which it turns out was caused by a broken spring rubbing on the front tyre. I removed the wheel and fitted the spacesaver and proceeded to drive home (6 miles) and on reversing into my driveway the spring on the front off side snapped as well anyway the car is still under warranty and really it would be easier for me to drive it to the dealership than to have them collect it.
So I am wondering if it is legal to drive the car using two space saver wheels and bearing in mind that the springs are checked during the mot and its a fail if any are broken.
What is the problem with Vectra c springs anyway? There seems to be a lot of people posting threads about them breaking.

Its not just vx springs. Have been doing a bit of research as mine snapped lately and it seems to effect a lot of makes. I'd ring them and get them to collect it depending on how far it is.

yerh i'd get them to collect it too!

must be this cold spell we are having!
possibly the material they used to make the springs, possible cheap and weak, and the cold is getting into the metal and weakening (spelling??) it more!

i think i might bring mine in to the w/shop now and havea a quick look at mine!
and then when i get home... put a blanket over the car, and tuck it in! lol
