    Default Emergency plumbing question

    A rad has corroded and starting squirting water everywhere.

    Its now a second spare room and not needed to be heated,

    Ive isolated rad at either end and so far has stopped the leak, question is ;

    A; Will this mess with the other rads ballancing,

    B; Cure the leak till i buy a new rad (dont want to awake to find a new swimming pool ((as much as id love one)))

    ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ???

    Im an electrician not a plumber at the end of the day lol

    King status will be awarded to the person with quickest CORRECT answer.

    Pretty sure you'll be OK - I've run a system with rads completely removed for maintenance / decorating. It depends on your set up of course.....

    Mind you, I'm not a plumber either - now back into the loft to check on my ongoing seeping joint ( ooh err missus... ) caused by a plumber choosing an easy option

    hi
    no it shouldn't effect the other rads as they are spured of the main flow.
    if in dought just put the heating on and check the rads are warm.

    as above matey, it will be fine as long as the valves are propperly off (if therm valve make sure it is off as far as it will go) and when you fit the new rad make sure to put inhibitor in it, you can buy fernox in a tube that inject's through the bleed hole, if you are on a combi boiler you will need to re-pressureize the system by the filling loop under the boiler, if gravity fed then it will self fill from a small header tank in the loft, make sure you bleed all the air out of the rad, and also check the rest of the upstair's one's also
