Default Best way to prevent washers from freezing?

I know the electric nozzles for the washers are dirt cheap, but the water I assume is still going to freeze in the bottle, with these cold temps, what's the best stuff to add to the washer bottle to help prevent it freezing. The carplan stuff I have in there now says on bottle 'helps to prevent freezing' but its frozen solid.

What do you guys use, to stop it freezing? Preferably something thats 100% safe on paintwork.

Yesterday Police were pulling cars in for vehicle checks in Kidderminster, as its an offence not to have one's washers working, how do you get on if they are frozen up. Would the police still issue a ticket?

This time of year I would put any type of anti freeze in, it just depends on the ratio, almost neat I would think! HTH, no specific brands though as they should all do the same job!

Just a normal "anti-freeze" not a product that says "helps to prevent freezing"

A standard "tesco" antifreeze has always done the job for me, and ive never had problems with the washer fluid freezing even in extreme conditions.

Antifreeze as in coolant? Just use neat screenwash if you want. Even the ready mixed stuff is ok down to -4.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Halford's blue ready-mixed stuff works well for me, never had it freeze yet, and I even water it down a little.

I just use any cheap windscreen washer fluid. Put it in neat and dont dillute it and it doesn't freeze. Was -7 a few days ago and could use washers without any freezing.

Hmmmmm... interesting, mine must be crap stuff, its been frozen solid now for at least 4 days, currently -3 outside.

I was using the Halfords Blue ready mixed until last weekend, but had issues with that freezing too, which is why I switched over to this more expensive and obviously useless Carplan stuff.
