    Default A real blokes morning!

I spent the morning at my dealers this morning messing!!

As I did'nt buy the Signum from my regular dealer, Marshall Leicester, simply due to the fact that they could not locate me a Signum to the spec I wanted, and Hartwell in Norwich had one as an ex- demo.

I digress!! Anyway, I was not too impressed with certian things on the Signum, it was supposed to have had the Network Q 114 check, I reckon it went in and out without being looked at.

The rear brakes were in a poor state! I think their solution was to put on a brake and clutch network Q warranty on and ship it out.

So it went into Marshalls this morning where new rear discs and pads were fitted under Network Q, the inside pad was just touching metal on metal which screwed up the discs! I have only done 800 miles in it!

So I also got my hands dirty, and fitted a new air filter, pollen filter and flat blade wipers which all needed doing after it's 21000 miles, why Vauxhall state every 40,000 miles for these I'll never know, as they were both filthy!

But the best part was playing with Tech 2!!

We plugged it in, and did a full check on the car, oil at 80% which means at least they did service it at 18000 miles!!

There were 3 software ECU upgrades issued since my car was built delivered in October 2007 so these were programmed to the car. DPF working well, basically everything looking fine and dandy!

So alot more happy now that Marshall's have given the car full good going over and everything has checked out!

But it is nice to get you hands dirty and have time to youself on the car!!!

After they did the brakes, I fitted the filters, wipers and checked out what I need to do to fit the twin exhaust whilst I waited for the master tech to start the Tech 2 work.

I also helped out the master tech with the tech 2 work! He teaches me a little bit each time which I enjoy learning about. I don't know what the upgrades to the software did, but the car is alot smoother and nicer to drive.

But there was apparently a DPF re-generating software upgrade.

i used to work at thurlow nunn we always had people coming from hartwells complaning about their service, they would rather drive the 20+ miles to come to us instead

sometimes you do have to go elsewhere to get the car you want though, at least you dealer dont have the attitude "you didnt buy it here we dont want to know" as alot do

I have bought from Marshalls for 18 years, and quite often! They fortunatley don't have this attitude.

They know the Signum is only a stop gap until I get the Insignia I want.

The service schedule for the 1.9 150 is 40,000 miles though?.
