    Default Suspension collapse

Jumped in my 2006 2.2 elite this morning to go to the shops and what a noise came from my front driver side wheel . turns out the susspension has colapsed and the wheel is running on the plastic under the wing.
So i phoned my local stealers who told me that the service side of things dont open until monday . Then he told me that he thought that the susspension is only covered for the first 12 months and not under the 3 year manufacturers warranty .
Does anyone know if this is the case with it not being under warranty ?

I think the shocks and springs are only covered for the first year, however if it is some catastophic failure (and if the wheel is right up the arch, it sounds pretty bad), then there may be more than a spring gone, in which case it can be reasonably expected to last longer than what it has. Difficult to give an opinion without knowing exactly what's happened.

Looks like the spring is running on the inside of the alloy wheel

Then it may just be a broken spring but perhaps more than one break (can happen). Don't think that will be covered by the warranty now

When i was getting my spring replaced under Network Q warranty

(bottom O/S/F coil broke but car still looked & drove fine lol )

They were saying that VX cover the springs for 4 years if you dont have a extended warranty (Receptionist to mechanic)

I'd pop in & see them to see what they say

hi they are covered for three years i just had all 4 done under warenty when two of them snapped also got the shocks done as one of the broken springs damaged it so i argued the point that if one was damaged then the others would have been put under more stress and got the whole lot under warrenty
