    Default Unstocked Parts

Today i'm having a warrenty job done, the dealer has just rang me to say they cant finished the job today because a bolt has sheared and they dont have another one and no local dealer has one either, so i have to lose a nights work and hope they get one from the factory tomorrow, I would have thought the nature of the part would have called for new bolts anyway so why didn't they check tio see if they had any before starting, this cant be the 1st time its happened either as the part is a regular failure item and has been upgraded since to eliminate the need for its replacement so often , anyone else had this experience before?

Just got it back, two new bush and arm assemblies, if you want to check this out on your car, jack it from the underneath so both wheels hang, then do a wheel bearing test, movement at the top is a sign they are on the way out, it's a reg thing so I'm told generally 40k kills em, so if you are nearing the end of warrenty get em checked, its a £200 job, on the facelift they have modded it, so it shows Vx know they aren't up to it.

Sorry to be a spud, but is this the front or back? It's just that mine sometimes feels like something at the back is loose, it kind of waves about and wanders. Other days it runs straight and true. I put it down to crosswinds originally, but I'm not sure. BTW Vx had it for two days to investigate it this time last year but found nowt. Now I'm wondering......

It's the back bud, jack her up and check yourself, if you find play run her in for repair, must be jack'd from the middle, no good using a side jack or a ramp with four struts, if in doub't get an indi garage to check it for you 1st then hit Vx with the findings, my experience is that they will bluff if they can, any MOT station will find it, I had a vectra B and that had shot most of the rear bushes giving me a car that wanted to go sideways even at low speed.

Me too, I'm sure they only changed em cos the guy who inspects the cabs found it, if I'd put it in for a service I dont think it would have flagged up, btw anyone know what oil I should use? I generally use GM 10/40 semi, but in the handbook it seems to suggest 5/30 fully synth, gotta give it a filter renewal as well, I noticed the dealer service wasn't much more than an oil change, service indicator was showing 6000, after a reset its now 31000, but the car has done 18000, does the sensor monitor the oil condition, or is it mearly an electronic reminder? thx in advance.
