You could fit a small bass speaker in the right hand side cubby in the boot. You can buy Alpine units just for that task.

Alpine Would be wise to get some measurements as i'm not sure if this is the same model as i've seen fitted before.

    Something I started.

I was just experimenting. Its the sub from an old amped vibe enclosure I dismantled. The amp is in the other cubby. I had a independent controller up front to adjust the bass.

What I really needed was a Free Air Sub as that set up is just the baffle and no enclosure.

To do it properly you need to build the box then find out its volume (as in cubic cm's not sound) then just buy a sub to match. Subs usually state what size enclosure they need. If not any good Car Audio place will be able to sort you out. I sound defend the hole area with roofing felt stuff, same as dynomat but sh!t loads cheaper.

You can always make the enclosure out of glass fibre but thats a different skill.

There's enough room behind there if you have a later Vec, earlier ones had a nice little basket behind the door to hold your stuff and its molder to the boot card but as usual later vecs got it dropped so loads of room. Luckily though my farther had a later company vec so I just swapped his for mine.

The little screw heads make good fixing points on the boot floor so no need to drill. HTH

this seems like a wicked idea i use to build fiber glass boxes for the local chavs 10 year ago....i think ill stick with just switching the existing speakers with some that have crisper sound and good built in bass....

any recommendations and what size do i need?
