    Default FAO: Big Phil

I know you were having problems at Santa Pod getting the power down, and I've been looking at some of the pictures.

In this picture it looks like all the weight is at the back of the car, as the front is very high. Could this account for the excessive wheelspin? -

Maybe it might be worth you saving up some coin and getting the Irmscher setup, because if you look at Duncan's car it's very flat when setting off -

I know you can't always tell by looking at pictures, but it might be worth looking into?

It looks like mine stayed reasonably flat as well. It must be all that V6 POWER in yours dude -

Looks like it might be a GSI thing.

Found a picture of 3.2 GSI Bill and the stance of the car is quite similar to Phils. The CDTI and the 2.0T's seem to remain quite flat, even though the back end sinks down a bit. The fronts don't seem to come up like the GSI's

could it be that the springs are alot stiffer on the front of the GSi's to cope with the weighter engine? My mate fitted some springs to his Cav Turbo, the front went up and the rear went down. As they were listed for the V6 too, I bought them and fitted them and got a nice level stance. So maybe its just the back sinking?

If we can stop the back sinking we may sort these Mondeo boyz out, eh Phil?

To be fair peeps the Mondeo is pushing out 250bhp, so I don't think our Vecs did badly at all.

One of the reasons for me changing my suspension set up was to stop pitching on acceleration and braking. Stiffer, shorter (PI sports) springs took care of that, no matter how hard I stamp on the gas pedal the nose stays right where it's supposed to.

This keeps the weight over the front wheels giving better traction and the TC doesn't kick in so often as it used to when launching.
