    Default Locking wheelnuts

    Help I need to get my wheelnuts off and Ive broke the key (code 199)
    Anybody out there in the liverpool area with this code, could I use your key for five mins to get the nuts off my wheels.

    Hi mate I had the same problem as i lost the key I had to get a old socket and smack it over the locknuts to get them off

    Ta for that but they have a spining collar around them so smacking a socket on doesnt work. Coming from south side.

    mate , use a screwdriver and hammer to snap the spinning collars off .
    Then u need a socket bigger than the nut and a breaker bar ( the one with the pivoting head ) for leverage.
    I could make a joke about scousers not being able to remove alloys , but I shall refrain .
    Good luck mate .
    If all else fails a local garage or tyre place should get them off without charging the earth , maybe a fiver a wheel ???

    i just had the excact same problem but i also ***** up the bolt on the wheel, tried loads of garages and they wouldnt or could not do it, in the end i had to hav a bar welded to the nut and cranked it of that way what an pain in the arse. i hate locking nuts

    Cheers for the replys, will give the old screwdriver a try. When these little Mof%$^&rs come off they are definately not going back on. Never ever fit locking wheelnuts to your car!!!

    Don't you belive it, I've just had to remove a set off of a naighbours car, cheepist quote he had was £40.................the izuzu dealers wanted £98 plus the cost of a new locking nut set at £30.

    cost him a few beers for me and £15 for a set of nuts from the local discount place.

    Best of it all is, he found the locking nut key 2 days later in a seat pocket.

    get a new one from dealer mine came next day think it was £15. I got them off then chucked them away. I will never have locking wheel nuts again
