Default Do I have Traction control?

This may be a really stupid question, but I'm wondering as I've just been reading the poll about whether fitting the TC switch works for people...

I drive a 2004 Elegance 1.8 which I assumed doesn't have TC, but someone on the poll thread claims that adding the switch makes a difference on their 2004 SXi (which I always understood to be a more sporty looking, but technically inferior car to mine).

If I add the switch without having TC, will I suddenly have it as if by magic? Or will I just have a nice looking button?

the 1.8 never had traction control as standard,it was part of the package that came with the ESP option on the 1.8,it was never available on its own

all vectra c models except for the 1.8 had TC,it was not switchable, the switch was only for ESP equiped models but it does on some cars work, but most dont

It will have the plug behind the button as all dash looms are the same. But it won't have the rest of it.

No they don't, from the face lift in late 2005, only the V6 models had TC fitted as standard. I think the 2.0T may have it also.

It was deleted from all other models and added to the options list.

The switch only worked on the first early canbus cars (3 button steering wheel control), when the can bus was upgraded and the roller type steering wheel switch used, I am sure that none of these cars that did have TC, were made switchable by fitting the switch.
