    Question Exhaust emission light

just recently the EXHAUST EMISSION LIGHT has started coming on, orange engine light on the dashboard, at first it was occasionally but now the light stays on.
Usually I have no problems driving with this light on but sometimes the car judders when accelerating as is generally sluggish .
Can anyone advise as how to cure this myself or is it a visit to my garage?

    Thanks

    Thanks for the quick reply.

Someone else has suggested the Lambda sensor, is it easy to locate / change?

yea pretty easy well was a 1.9cdti 120 think it was a 23mm spanner.
make sure the car is cold (or it could really hurt)
pull off pipe from intercooler to throttle body
pull off coolant pipe and hold up with zip tie to stop leaking to much coolant
the lambda sensor (o2 sensor) is bolted into the down pipe you now have access to unclip the electrical connect 6 pin i think as its heated. now loosen with spanner unscrew it and change however this may not be the problem i had simular problems with an intercooler hole, however if it turns out to be maf i have a spare one

Not if its a vectra c. The paperclip test could be done on the b's but not the c's.
