Advice please!

Came out of a restaurant last night in Sutton Coldfield and saw a car reverse into an old brand new mercedes in a car park. I wandered over to the car to have a word with the driver to make sure he was going to leave his details but as I approached he sped off and nearly ran a couple over! I noted down his reg number and left a note on the car that had been hit just saying that reg blah blah blah has just reversed into him.

Is it worth me phoning it in to the old bill as I didn't leave my contact number on the note and have details of both cars still.

i would let the police know tbh, as questions may be asked why you left a note and didnt report it.

Without your details there wont be an independent witness, so yes I would try and get your details to the owner some how.

Report it mate. More chance for the insurance to pay out for the poor merc owner if there's an ind. witness

it was in the TGI fridays car park in sutton - and it was a brand new merc i've just called it in and given the officer all the details. he said that they don't often get people phoning in incidents like this anymore - but they did appreciate it. it's apparently up to the merc owner to have reported it, then the details will automatically match and i'll be called to submit a more formal statement.

i can't turn a blind eye to stuff like that. i'd be so p*ssed off it someone did the same thing to mine and didn't leave their details. bring back corporal punishment lol!
