    Default First proper drive.

After picking my SRI CDTI 120 up on wednesday i finally got to go for a proper drive down some B roads this afternoon. All i can say is wow. I've already fitted a tuning box and already it a far better drive than my old SXI 2.2 petrol.
The power is there all the time. Spot on for burning out of 3rd gear corners and smoking some boy in his saxo.
Stopped off and took some photies while i was out.

    The 120 and 150 are different engines. 120 is 8v, 150 is 16v.

    Fitting a tuning box to a 120 will give approx 160bhp a box on a 150 gives approx 190bhp

Would it make much difference putting a 150 intercooler on a 120. If its bigger it would give more power surely.

i think the biggest reason for the power difference is the fact that the 120 is 8v and the 150 is 16v.

Biggest issue with Turbo cars is inlet temp, a couple of degrees can make 5-10bhp diff. A bigger intercooler would help, plus maybe a charge cooler sited nearer the inlet.

But like Andy says, the biggest diff in the engines is those extra 8v that allow the air and exhaust to flow better!

    its not the case.
    more valves <> more power.
but they use 4 valve per cylinder when they produce more power!
If you insist I can prove this...
cdti 150 has chip power, but I was wondering if they had reinforced engine parts.
