Spring snapped

Well thats a great end to this crappy year! I was coming down the M5 at 70mph when I heard this massive bang! Stopped on the hard shoulder to have a look, couldn't see anything wrong, in the dark!

So I slowly carried on until I got off. It then became very clear that the front offside coil spring has snapped in two!

Now the question remains as to when I can get it fixed. The 3.0V6 cdti is never easy to get parts for but I assume its the same as the 3.2V6 so hopefully it won't be too hard. I'm not interested in lowering springs as I catch things as it is!

So if anyone lives or can get to near Bath with a pair of front springs and some tools - who knows what they are doing as I don't! - and fancy's helping to change them with me then there will be something in it for you!

Its typical that it happened right in the middle of the biggest holiday of the year in this country!

you could do that with out the spring tool as the spring is in 2 parts now

Wouldn't you still need the tool to compress the new spring?

same happend to me about a month ago both front springs at same time. If i was closer m8 i would help out

Isn't yours a 2.2 petrol? If it is they won't fit

ahh **** it sorry m8 4 got, got them in my boot aswell lol ready 4 u lol if urs was a 2.2
