    Default 2.2 DTi benefits

What is the benefit of having this engine as I can't see any at the moment, if you want performance dont go for it and economy wise my computer is showing 38mpg.

Is this just my computer playing up or does the 2.2 dti deliver poor economy? (I dont drive it enough to find out)

The fuel economy in my old 2.2 dti was very good, regulary averaging 45-50 mpg. I suppose it depends on what types of journeys you are doing.

You should get 35 urban and about 43 on the motorway, up side is it's normally a good engine with a few known niggles, and it's a whole lot faster than a 2.0 DTi, has a chain drive.

    Common faults are

1 - Turbo Hose Split or comes loose
2 - Spill pipes erode causing bad starting
3 - Crank pulley can fail
4 - MAF can fail, gives gutless performance

Other than that I can't think of anymore common fault's.

    And cost....

If you want a CDTi 150 then it means buying a newer car.

I have a 2.2 DTi and i'm happy with consumption. I am getting 41mpg average and thats a mix of motoway and town.

Performance is ok but buy a petrol turbo if you want real performance. Mine had all the spill pipes replaced and new injectors and glow plugs just before I bought it There is a receipt for £700 thankfully paid for by the previous owner so my car is running well.

And I have had no problems at all since I bought it 4 months ago..... touching wood....

Well I have a new MAF, got that under the warrenty, I reset the computer as it just stayed at 41.6 all the time, when the engine is cold it was 30.2mpg.

I've just cleaned the boost pressure sensor still got the egr valve to do.

Spill pipes hmmm it turns for maybe 4 seconds before starting, I wouldnt mind better they are expensive to replace and difficult to even check.
