Default Lumpy and Rough V6 Signum

My Signum 3.0ctdi has recently started to feel a bit lumpy on idle and quite rough on accelerating. It was only serviced in November. I took it to my local trusty garage(non Vx) who test drove it and said that it was definitely not right and was not running properly on all cylinders.
I took it to my local Vx Dealership who plugged it into their diagnostic system but no faults were showing up, although they did say it did not feel right. I dont think they really know what to do next!
Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be going on here - I am really quite worried. Incidentally there have been no warning lights showing on the dash.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
    Derek

The only think i can think of is one or more injectors playing up. A couple have had them replaced in the past. I believe Wilco was one. More noticable when accelerating at 40mph in 6th gear - for example.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

sounds like a injector to me ..but you will need to check the wireing loom and the igniter pack ....but if you get hold of a good diesel specalist and they have a set of "chassis ears" they can listen to the injectors and determin which one is faulty .. ive found 4 faulty injectors in my engine this way ..a mate from work with a sigbum had a missfire and number one injector was giveing a trouble code .we removed the injector and sent it for testing at carwoods in smethic only cost £10 they sent it back as tested ok but did say if there were only small particles sticking the injector the testing would have dislodged them we refitted the same injector and it has never failed again....have you used genuine parts during service ..the 3.0 has a different fuel filter from the 2.0 and 22. even tho the houseing is the same ....

Car has always been serviced by Vx dealer(well Masterfit, they gave up their Vx dealership - Curtis Motors in Fife) so assume Vx parts fitted. Also seen some comments on the wiring loom being replaced - you are all getting me worried...should I drive the car or will it possibly cause damage?
I think I may need to take it to a main Vx dealer in Edinburgh - anyone know of a good one?

Wiring loom is normally on the 1.9 not the 3.0. If its doing damage it would probably show an EM light. If its really bad then get it booked in, although i am yet to find someone who really knows their way around the 3.0.

Car went into my local Vx dealer today but they still cannot find the problem and nothing is showing up on their diagnostic machine - they have been in touch with Vx's technical department and are going to try more things on MOday. They said it might even be the ecu - yikes! is that not really expensive? The car is just out of warranty and done just 30k miles! Anyone got any ideas that I might prompt them to check.
    Thanks,
    Derek

I'd say use some injector cleaner in your fuel tank...worth a try as it's so cheap and easy.

Any recommendations on which one to use?
