Default Popularity of Vectra C in U.K

    Hi mates,
As you have noticed I’m a “yellow” here but there is one thing I have figured out, Vectra C seems to me to be one of the most popular model in U.K. Am I right? In here in Finland Opel has no longer been a “desirable vehicle. “ Why? The simple answer is RUST! In winter the roads are salted down especially southern part of the country.

I read an interesting article on newspaper. The topic was “The lifespan of modern cars today.” Ten years! Salt and water is the key thing here in Scandinavia. As you know salt softens surface tension of water. This mixture of saltwater vapour penetrates to everywhere. Especially electrical equipments are in danger. Short circuits and almost mysterioustroubles are what the car specialised electrical fitter has to face down every day. This is a pit funny but Mercedes rusts the most and has also bad electrical failures. Have you ever thought how many electrical motors there are for e.g. M.B 500?

Vectra-B had rust problems around the wheel arches.
I've not seen any rusty Vectra-C's, yet.

They're popular here because they lose their value quicker than just about any other car of a similar size. Very cheap to buy used.

Vauxhall has a bad reputation here as well, but I'm on my 4th one now and haven't had any real problems at all with any of them.

vectra C seems to be the most common new car on the roads here, from what i can tell. i see dozens of them everyday - mostly cdtis.
mine hasn't got an iota of rust anywhere yet (saying that now, it'll probably have big holes by new yr).

GM sell more Vectra-Cs in Britain than any other market, with Germany second. That's why the Insignia had its worldwide launch at the British Motor Show in London.

The only rusty VX I've had in 20 years of driving them (7 Astras, 2 Cavaliers & 2 Vec C's) was my wifes N reg Astra & the only bits that rusted were the bits replaced by the body shop after a smash

My Cavalier GSI and Vectra B both went rusty around the wheelarches, but it is very salty around here.
