weird noises

i have a 2002 vec c with 49,079 miles on the clock and i was just sat there with engine running idleing around 500-750 rpm with a weird knocking/tapping noise and i was dring around and sat at 50 and she misfired? only once. any ideas much appreciated as always fellas
