    Default steering controls not working

    hi all ive just changed my steering wheel today which was really easy but when i connected the battery tried my stereo the steering controls dont work ive just took the airbag off to see if the plugs in and everything is fine? could it be the wheel itself? just asking now as im about to swap the wheels over again? tia

    Why don't you swap the controls over from your old wheel?
    Now I need a turbo to keep up!

    Can't you swap the buttons over between the two wheels?, on the facelift the controls are held on by one screw

    haha ive just changed the wheel back over and that was the same so i know its something to do with the patch on my stereo so will go into halfords and get another one!!

    right been to halfords and tried 4 different patches so it cant be that does any one know if the steering controls need tech 2ing in after being dissconnected? thats the only thing i can think of now?

    No they don't as its only half canbus. Just plug and play.

    oh damn it i have no idea whats wrong with them!!!!! they worked fine before i changed the steering wheel and now they wont work at all!!! what else could it be? im temted to get a cheap vx stereo and try that
