yeah most modern cars the window is bonded on and needs the pros to remove and fit. Get a price and make sure they price removal and refit.
Gazza4
cheese wire
might speak to insurance see if its covered for breakages
Definitely for window fitter guys to fit, much beyond the scope of DIY.
Father-in-law had a new screen in his PT Cruiser this year, and it rattled and creaked.
Windscreen company had to fit him a new one FOC, as fitter had messed it up by either using too much bonding compound or too little ( I can't remember which!!)).
Of course, the scratch occurred whilst you had the car insured, not while the previous owner had it.....
It's just like changing your old bicycle tyre but this time you'll need dessert spoons not tea spoons!
Snowman, you got your ears on?
You will also need the two little foam seals that go under the screen at the bottom corners (part no. 13197857 x 2) and the neoprene moulding that runs along the bottom of the screen (part no. 13142459), all of these are destroyed when the old screen is removed with the aforementioned "cheese wire" !!!
