Default Shall i just get rid?

    Hey guys.

Right, my car has been in and out of the garage for like 3 months now, with the same fault, when the engine is turned off its clearing the fault, and nothing is found. the relay sensor was originally replaced, but still faulting,

Basically at constant 60/70 mph, or when hard accelerating, limp home mode comes on, nobody can find any faults, it always cmes on in when i cant get to a garage, and the aa cant read the fault.

I managaed to get it to the garage once with it on, and they found a split on a vaccum pipe, replaced it, but its still doing it!

Shall i just get rid of the flaming thing, its like its just unfixable?!

if the engine in your car is a 2.0dti or 2.2dti then i would have a look at the egr valve or another split vacuum pipe,it may pay you to get the car into a dealer or someone who has tech2 to get the car checked out properly

Surely the "Pro's" would have looked at these? Excuse my ignorance, but I thought you were getting sorted by the place you bought it?

Yeah, everythign tried, as stated i found and replaced a vaccum hose that was split.

The only thing i havent tried is the EGR.

When plugged in at a dealer on a tech2, its not reading or storing any fault codes.

a friend of mine had a problem similar to this with a GSi Astra a few years ago. sometimes it would hiccup and throw the engine light on, or it would come on for no apparent reason. the car was under a year old and still had the manufacturers warranty on it. but for some reason the main dealers still couldn't find the fault - it would clear itself on restart. he even took it straight there when it did it one day and left it running, but when the service manager wouldn't come out because he was too busy it was too much for him and he nearly became involved in a scuffle! eventually they changed the ECU, but it still did it. the only thing that seemed to cure it was when they replaced a big piece of wiring loom, but by then he'd had enough and part-exed it for a frontera. out of the frying pan into the fire as they say!
