Christmas Shopping

Went Christmas shopping this morning. The last Saturday before Christmas.

Arrived at Cheshire Oaks, a huge shopping complex at around 11.00 am and searched for a parking space or rather decided where to park in the 75% empty car park.

After making purchase number one, A digital camera discounted by over £70.00 I set off for Chester preparing for the nightmare traffic jams.

I arrived around 12.00 having not dropped below 30 MPH all the way and had the pick of the car park spaces again. Less than 10 cars in the 200 or so spaces were occupied.

I then went into Richer Sounds to listen to a Mini Hi Fi I'd seen earlier in the week. Unfortunatley the sound was poor mainly due to the supplied speakers but the guy suggested the model two up the range complete with some third party speakers. The sound was brilliant for a Mini Hi Fi and even with the addition of an Ipod docking station, the remote to work it and some quality speaker cable the price was only £22.00 more than the original unit. £40.00 off the already heavily discounted Richer Sounds price.

I've never known the shops be so quiet so close to Christmas or the discounts be so easily available on the High Street.

Last year Cheshire Oaks had a Park and Ride scheme. Not required anymore. We were in Liverpool a couple of weekends ago. It was quiet then too.

Well working today i passed the Trafford centre to see no cars queuing for the car parks, so different to last year.

Its either that people are being carefull with their money at this time or its going to be a busy chritmas eve.

Very busy where I live. The town was very bust difficult to park ended up parking a mile outside the town, no parking spaces left.

we went halfords for my sat nav and it was dead in there.
went to argos to get a paper shreder and it was quite busy in there.
we went the fort in brum to get some shopping and it was mental down there, no parking spaces at all

same at meadowhall its been just another normal shopping day

if u were to belive the TV & papers the shops should be packed.

it was absolutly cayous hear in stevenage as the main car park is tesco's and that was full as i drove past

Tesco this morning queuing for a parking space!!
Then another one for the checkout!! What Fun!!
Never mind all done now!!

I hate shopping unless I go early. Strangely I enjoy shopping in the US but I got all my presents online in November. I imagine most people use online these days having spoken to the deilver drivers who are obviously rushed off their feet.
