Has anyone ever tried to fit this, I know its a gimmik but a cool one at that, you'd still have to put the key in I assume but then you'd have a fancy button to press to do the rest![]()

yeah i put it in a couple of my cars. easy to do. i made my own kits though i wouldnt buy that over priced shi* of ebay. its just a button a nd a relay.
yes you do still have to put key in the turn ignition on. but you hav to options after that, you can either do it so you put key in and can only push button to start (key wont start it) or you can wire it up so you can start using button or key ( i went for this option incase button broke lol)
Mat
you couldnt do a quick diagram could you? Im an electrician so it shouldnt be to hard but car electrics is a different ball game![]()
Im also interested in this please
sorry guys i totally forgot about this.
here you go.
right the colour of the wires may vary in a veccy, please note the colours i have used here are just an example
if you use a multi/volt meter on the wires in you steering colum, put one probe to ground and then go through all the other wire one by one until you find the ones you need.
1st wire (yellow in drawing) this will only be live with the ignition on
2nd wire (red in drawing) this will only be live while your starting car and will be a thick wire, so turning key to final postion but remember as you let go of key and car is started this wire will no long be live so it may only show 12-14v for split second. also when extending this wire upto the relay make sure you use thick-ish cable as this has alot of current travelling through it whilst starting the car, the yellow cable wont really matter as this is just a 12v signal lead.
not to sure on a newer car but on an older car you would run 1 wire to ign + and 1 to the starter wire both on ignition cap and then you would have key and button and would use a multi meter to to find wich wires ie wich wire is live when ignition on and which one is live when key turned to start position
here's how you do it so you can still start wth key as well as button.
the blue wire will be live with igntion on.
dont cut into any of the wirring you dont need to
there is a spade connetor on the starter just put a female spade onto it job done and your not looking at cutting wires
you can put the relay by your battery and run just 1 wire into the car to do the start button and its then just 1 to the starter
