    Default colour c mudflaps.

    can anyone post up some pictures of colour coded mudflaps, want to see what there look like to make up my mind . also whats the best way to paint them.

    I think they use the same paint, it's the preparation / primer that's different.
    They have to make sure the plastic is really clean (to get rid of silicones, polishes, etc) they then use a special primer that prepares / etches the surface.

    I asked about them putting plastisier in the paint, but said not needed as the mudguards don't bend or flex.
    I also asked about extra laquer to protect from stonechips, etc, but they said that can make the top laquer coat too brittle.
    One of the other painters suggested not painting the surface that was in the wheel arch. You might be able to see that in the pictures of my thread.
    That way there is less to worry about getting chipped.

    not great pics of mudflaps but will give you the idea / use Plastic Primmer ..Halfords have it make sure give surface a good key for the paint

    they wont fit the rear of your car though as you have the XP rear skirt i'm afraid....

    thanks for that lizard, looks like i will have go with the rubber floppy ones.
