Just had to replace ours as it was not getting cold any more. Wrong time of the year to have to put my hand in my pocket for something like that.

I hear what ya saying Ed, But i just wanna get this one fixed before i lose all my frozen christmas food.
The insurance i have just for the freezer will pay out for the repair and my food so the cost don't bother me. It's the time of year and our christmas plans going down the pan that's upsetting me...

probably cheaper to find an independant retailer that can deliver pdq, usually at no extra cost. That's what I did. "I'll have this one please, can you deliver?

    "when do you want it?

"Well my freezer is full of food and dead

    Delivered within half an hour

One of the least complicated things in the house these days, and very little to go wrong with them. Only one major moving part, and thats the compressor/motor.

If its just stopped freezing, assuming nothing silly like switches/ or stat, and you can hear the compressor running, most times it will be due to loss of gas or bad soldering which has caused early leakage.
You can buy gas refilling kits so you can do it yourself. They really are a doddle to fix... honestly!

Probaby cost around £30 to £40 to get someone to re-gas and seal, if you cannot do it yourself.

    Worth checking out this forum.

Not normally worth the bother getting repaired. If you need parts you are unlikely to get them until after Xmas. Contact the insurance company and ask how they want to go ahead as they may just payout rather than go for the repair.

I've been on the phone to them most of the day and all thier saying is "our contractors have 24 to get in touch with you!!!". And boy is it getting me mad to watch my stuff slowly defrost.

The fridge/freeezer costs about £700 so not a cheap opition to just replace i think.

Get round the neighbours/family quick and borrow some freezer space!

What's wrong with it exactly? - as in what's it doing, or not doing as may be the case. We've got exactly the same one as you so not sure if that may be of any help in sussing anything out.
