    confused replace cdc40 with cd70???

hello, im a new memberer ive just purchesad a 07 reg vectra vxr with cdc40 d.a.b headunit, with factory bluetooth phone kit. also got with the car a second-hand cd70 unit, colour screen, arial and loom that past owner purchased but never fitted. im told it was removed from a 57 reg vectra. (said he paid £600 for it) ive plugged the unit and screen into my car and everything seems to work, except gps as ariel isnt attached yet as plugs must plug into o loom in the car somwhere. the trouble is ive lost the use of my phone and also it doesnt seem to be DAB?? does anyone know if i can get the phone to work with the cd70 and also is the cd70 a DAB radio or just am/am? im told this cd70 is an upgrade to the cdc40 so it must be DAB right? has anyone done this upgrade themselves? any help would be fantastic. cheers guys

CD70 is not DAB and you might need to tech 2 your bluetooth.

thanks lads. if i had the correct user manual it would help. the manual covers models 2001- 2013 etc so im sure thats the wrong book. also date on satnav disc is 2005 so does that mean it couldnt have come from an ''57' car as the disc would prob say 2007? or was the 2005 disc used for a few years? is the cd70 satnav any good anyway? im unsure if to fit it or flog it on as i use d.a.b lots and im sure i would miss it/ or maybe not? if anyone has cd70 i would be interested in your thoughts. cheers

I have a CD70, I'd sell it, buy a tomtom for £100 and spend the £400/£500 on beer!

CD70 is ok but not the best. Put it on ebay, they can go for silly money. Good luck with it,

    Robbie

In my openion u should keep ur cdc40 opera system, as u cant beat the quality of the DAB radio sound. I got this system in my car and I dont think I will replace it with cd70 at any cost.

When I bought my Jul 06 Vectra it came with a 2005 map disc. When I enquired at the garage they said it had probably been swapped by someone who wanted a newer disc - charming! Anyway, I bought a 2007/2008 one from ebay for approx £32 in the end.

Never had a DAB system so couldn't comment. I'm happy enough with the CD70 though.

just been checking the wire loom i have for this cd70 satnav.
i have the rear arial with 3 wires coming out of it with a plug on,
then i have what seems to be main loom which rear arial plugs into, which is about 8ft long. with a further two plugs on the other end
then there must be another part that runs from there to the rear of stereo, especialy the gps arial that plugs into blue arial plug in the rear of set. will that be hidden behind the dash somewhere or will it have to be purchased from parts dep?
